Impressions of St. John
I wanted to at least lay my eyes on St. John restaurant before leaving London. The outside is just a plain storefront…a little imposing. A sign outside says they sell baked goods but I didn’t see the front door anywhere. A beer man was wheeling a keg out the front, so I just walked in the open door. The bar (and bakery) inside are housed in what appears to be an enclosed bakery and...

Thoughts on going home
It will be great to be home again. I am looking forward to wrestling with the kids before bed, eating together again and being with Gretchen. I miss petting my cats. I was amazed at the quality and effortlessness it took me to use things here. Switzerland is a very clean country. There are reminders everywhere to keep clean. I was walking past a wall of stone yesterday morning and...

“Life is a curve. Where are you on it?”
– Fortis advertisement sighted at Londond City Airport. At first site, it looked profound. Now I realize, the statement and question are meaningles.

Trains, Automobiles & Planes
My day so far has vacillated between times of panic and leisure. Got up at 8 am and read the news and made my ‘final’ pre-Swiss blog entry until 10am. I then realized that I hadn’t showered, I hadn’t packed, and I was leaving the country at 3:30pm. I quickly got ready, packed an overnight bag, got everything in order and left the hotel at 11am. Then I had a nice, but...

Skype home to Leif, Brita & Lars
Leif: Who's that?
Me: Who's who? I am alone here.
Leif: I heard someone laugh.
Brita (in background): Hee, hee, hee!
Leif: But I have a play-dough nose!
