Lars started tackle football this summer. I always knew football was intense, but it has started brutally - four practices a week, lots of honesty about physical ability and desire (kids and parents are not that used to honesty in sports at this age) and some salty language from the older team coach (8th grade) that practice at the same time. As parents, we are concerned about this much sports for a 4th grader, but we are going with it for now.
One of the cool things is that Lars got to play a scrimmage in the Metrodome on the field. So he’s already seen something I have never seen - what the stands look like down on the green. Their team got crushed by a bigger and more disciplined team. But it was a fun day and exciting to see some football!
