Saw Steve Koester and Two Dark Birds tonight

Also saw Mike Wisti.  I had forgotten how great live music was.  I cannot remember the last time I set foot in First Avenue.  At the same time, it was kind of like a high school reunion where you see people with a fresh set of eyes.  Mike seemed the same, but life was starting to intrude on Steve and I can’t help but wonder if this is his last tour before fatherhood takes hold permanently.  In other Punchdrunk news, everyone knows that Galen has ‘made it’ as the bassist for ‘The Hold Steady’, Judd has a great job in advertising in New York and Rick is back in Milwaukee as a lawyer.  After tonight I realized 2 things…Mike Wisti is a hell of a nice guy and I miss the Punchdrunk days - but not the Punchdrunk people.
