Gretchen and I decided to take a walk in the woods next to the hotel in Rosemont, Illinois.  How bad could it be in the woods of Chicago?  We emerged 1 hour later, covered in stinging nettles and scared from the dozens of giant spiders webs that we had to hack through with sticks.  We were totally underdressed for this kind of hiking.  When we finally made it out of the woods, we came to a lake bounded by highways and jumbo jets flying overhead.  Then it was a walk back on a suburban road with no sidewalks.  Funny thing…I had a good time.
