Ending my day with a pint and fish & chips

Before leaving Minneapolis, my brother-in-law told me to be sure to get a pint while in England. After going into and leaving Ye Olde Cheese Shoppe (rebuilt in 1697…and not changed much after that), I headed down the street to The Old Bell, opened originally in 1873. It looks to be the very definition of the corner pub. I told the bartender that I’d never had ale before, so she gave me a taste of a light and a dark. The fish is on it’s way, and the pint tastes mighty nice. A good ending to day #1.
