Dad: What did you like the best about this weekend?
Brita: I liked that we got to spend family time together.
Dad: Who did you spend time with? What did you do?
Brita: We ate dinner at Uncle Stefan and Auntalie’s house. We saw How To Train Your Dragon with Tobias. We dyed our eggs and the next day went on an Easter Egg Hunt. We worked on our puzzle - but we didn’t finish it.
Dad: Anything else?
Brita: Can you remember anything else?
Dad: Riding bikes?
Brita: Oh yeah!
This week Lars wrote and read a poem for his class. I am including it here with the pictures from this weeks’ project.
My Poem Hides
My poem hides in North Carolina where the ocean tides makes you bob up and down.
My poem hides in a Daredevil baseball bat.
My poem hides in my grandpa’s pocket as we watch football.
My poem hides in the football my dad and I throw to each other.
My poem hides in Wausau where my grandpa drives a pontoon.
My poem hides in the Dells where the waterfall crashes on the rocks below.
My poem hides in my mom’s hair as we watch the Winter Olympics.
My poem hides in blue jay’s feathers as it calls it’s morning call.
Dad: What were you trying to show with the camera?
Leif: I was trying to show the whole wild world and outer space and the moon.
Dad: Do you think you succeeded?
Leif: No, because I can’t get a picture of the whole wide world and the whole sun!
Lars: You would have to go around the world taking pictures.
Leif: Yeah. I know that.
Dad: Brita, what happened this weekend? What did you do?
Brita: I played with my cousin (Tobias). I helped with a puzzle.
Dad: Is that all you did?
Brita: I rode on Lars’ bike. I worked on my science project and I roller-skated in front of my yard and to the co-op.
Dad: Was it hard to skate all the way to the co-op?
Brita: Yes.
Dad: Yes?
Brita: No. No.
Dad: Did anything else happen that was good this week?
Brita: A band came from upper campus. We were the first to see the band from the upper campus.
Dad: What kind of band was it?
Brita: It was a jazz band.
Dad: Anything else?
Brita: At school, we are having tests at dancing. The chicken dance and…pink panther and…great Grant Garantula Gorilla.
I started a new project that gives one of our kids a camera for the weekend. We give no limits on the pictures they can take and there are no rules. Each Sunday, I’ll try to submit the pictures of choice (from them) with a little narrative about what happened this weekend. This week is Brita’s turn.
