This morning the sun came up early, everyone woke up at the crack of dawn, so I had a little time before work to spend with the kids. Leif received a book of airplanes for his birthday and asked if I would help him put them together. I was happy to do it. The planes came in different colors. Part of the fun was sitting together on the floor, talking and assembling, anticipating the flights. Lars joined in and ‘the boys’ got to work. Dad was the lead assembler, Lars and Leif were supporting with details and stickers. The real fun is trying to predict which plane will fly the furthest and testing them out. I took Lars and Leif out on the back porch and they took turns attempting to throw their airplanes over the garage. Only one plane made it to the alley - the one we all predicted to fail. Turns out, in this case, the toss is more important than the plane.
